An Opportunity for the Brotherhood

Issandr el Amrani lays out the facts surrounding Egypt’s struggling transition to democracy, and notes that with the military government’s decision to try NGO officials in court, the Muslim Brotherhood – which won the lion’s share of parliamentary seats in a recent election – has the opportunity to play the grown-up in the room.

It will be illuminating to see whether they take it.

I wouldn’t bet anything that I didn’t want to lose.

With respect, sir, my assessment is:

    Snowball, Mk 1, Mod 0.
    Hell.
    less than its chance in.

Indeed, although I have no articulable proof, I suspect that if the Muslim Brotherhood didn’t instigate this outrage, they will enthusiastically endorse it for promotion.

Let’s see… will being suddenly “rational” advance the MB’s agenda of re-establishing the Sharia-governed Caliphate, and enslaving or killing all those infidels and apostates they couldn’t convert?

This is the same Muslim Brotherhood that ardently supported A. Hitler et al, in that whole Holocaust thing. A stance they have yet to modify or refute one itty bitty bit. It’s THAT Muslim Brotherhood, innit?

I think we have our answer.

  • Well, there’s grown-ups…and then there’s grown-ups. Sometimes the mind does not follow the body, which I suspect is more prevalent than not in this case.

Esteemed liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg selected the Arab Spring countries as her vacation hot spot during their just past break. She gave positive comments about the elimination of tough dictators working with the USA against Al Qaeda and their replacement by groups committed to the Caliphate and our destruction, along with little satan. Ruth’s reported sage advice for the Muslim Brotherhood/Al Qaeda was to stay away from our Founding Father’s concepts and the USA Constitution. Not sure what she suggested as a replacement for freedom and all. Maybe an Obama/Soros/Marx constitution and sharia? Egypt has given sanctuary to the leaders of AQ they must be smilin.. The 15 Americans and 30 others in jail for promoting democracy, not so much.
