Targets of Opportunityblog advertising is good for you Credo"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke “You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Amazon AssociateFor the Effort!Winnar!![]() Subscribe![]() CategoriesPagesTagsacademy

I generally like this guy but I thought his speech at CPAC was disjointed and foggy. A commenter on another site wondered if he had been drinking…
Then his hissy fit against the OWS crowd just seemed so affected especially when you consider that he was surrounded by security while he did it.
To compare this clip with what I saw at CPAC leads me to believe something was not right with him the other day.
Ooo, someone said they wondered if he had been drinking!
Send ‘em a case of the stuff.
Guess he put his opponents on notice. The Lefty LIB Moonbats are like cockroaches…turn on he light and watch them scurry.
I’m not hard right wing but I am able to debate thoughtfully and with enough respect for other to allow them to speak.
The enemies of Breibart are sooooooo insecure and unable to hold a thoughtful discussion and it is painfully apparent to all. The media got OBOT elected in 2008 as people were tired of Bush after 8 years….OBOT has worn out all but his ardent followers after 3 years.
Obama has got to go….really.
I saw it as projection: His defense mechanism whereby he unconsciously transfers his desires, emotions, and previous actions to others, with him as martyr.
Like the Left does in their critiques / attacks on conservatives?
Breibart provides the great service of diversity in journalism. He is the one true investigative journalist left in reporting. His reporting on ACORN was masterful as truth to power.
He rambles, but he speaks truth about the radicals in power wishing to do America and conservative Americans harm. His analysis is spot on when he notes the 2008 election winners are acting like they won a coup d’état.
I saw it as mob mentality by the left. A mob mentality that has grown to a fever pitch. A mindless, irrational, baseless, unintelligent, squealing against a person and a concept, which threatens to attack the fantasy illusion that keeps such people safe in their IV drip world of non-reality.
It’s a mental disease on the left, and I think it is incurable until those folks feel such pain so as to ratchet their brain into finding out what the real problem is. Still many of them are beyond hope.
Flit,
Apparently you’ve never watched MSNBC and seen Maddow or Olbermann at full-throated screech. Talk about projection.
Regards,
Mick
Flit, you definitely need glasses if that’s what you saw. Truly, you need to walk in that man’s shoes for a while to see what he was reacting to…and you need to give your predisposed positions a bit of a time out if what you say is really your analysis of Breitbart.
I watched the speech and enjoyed virtually every second of it…but I would have liked to have heard the part he apparently forgot and left out, too. If someone is measured by their enemies, I like him. As to the Lefties who show their stripes so often, not at all.
You would Flit -psychobabble fits you rather well.
Yep, in the same way Janeane Garafalo “sees” Tea Party members as racist, because that’s her, y’know, impression.
Facts not required.
Odd when folks advocating limited government and lesser taxation are deemed “extremists”.
Sean
It’s interesting to see the “mass overactions” of the left to West, Palin, Breitbart and Tea Partyers in general when they hit back. They sure bring the trolls out of their caves.
The remainder of this year is going to be loud.
Until you have stood amongst a screaming bunch of leftists calling you a racist homosexual and explaining to you to shut up — you will not understand the anger of Breitbart.
I am awaiting the documentation of racism and violence against the Tea Party (note to those who willfully ignore the slur of Tea Bagger — that is a disgusting homoerotic action to which the leftoid media are referring).
The documentation of violence, racism, rape, and anti-Semitism of OWS is incontrovertible. But they are given a pass by the news media and supported by The One, Reid and Pelosi.
Strange times we live in.
Stevec-
Only a narcissist and a charlatan seeking attention would go into an OWS group like he did, especially with a film crew and shout:
“You are freaks and animals!” [Whether they are or not is not as issue. Breitbart's motivation is.]
‘Nuff said!
Sinking to the lowest denominator, while seeking attention.
Flit – let’s get the facts straight. This was a group that was seeking to disrupt CPAC. Also illustrative the chant they break into – “Racist, sexist, anti-gay, right wing bigots, go away”. Standard fare for the leftist mob mentality. Convict without evidence (if they cared about the facts, they would know that Breitbart has been one of the main supporters of gay Republican groups such as GOProud), mindless slogans, groupthink – all tactics that would seem very familiar to Robespierre.
And we know how well that turned out.
Flit,
What happened to “Speak Truth to Power”?
They ARE freaks and animals. They defecate on police cars, rip sinks out of the bathrooms of businesses, trash wherever they go, cause “the little people” to lose employment by blocking the operation of small businesses, and rape their own female participants.
In fact, to call them animals is to insult the animals.
+10^7
So Flit, if only a narcissist and charlatan would go into a crowd of opposition and shout “You are freaks and animals”, and you claim he is projecting…
What is it that you think you are doing in the comments section of this blog on a regular basis, particularly today?
I think I learned quite a bit about you today. Thanks for keeping it simple.
Shack.
I, too, would like to know of and/or see documented instances of this as well. Surely if such things have happened there must be police reports, etc.
Dunno who started the Tea Bagger thing though.
I believe CNN’s Anderson Cooper was the first to inject the term “tea bagger” into the MSM conversation, on 5/15/09. And within a few seconds, word began circulating regarding the term’s meaning in, um, certain circles.
-Jas,
You may be on to something with this.
In 2007, Out magazine had an article headlined “The Power 50, 4.3.2007, By Out.com Editors, Influential gays are becoming increasingly more visible–and more powerful.”
In the article, they placed Cooper in the #2 spot. Is it possible that Cooper is intimately familiar with the term and that its use in conversation is simply second-nature to him?
The article also noted that his salary at CNN had reportedly doubled from $2 million to $4 million that year. Apparently, Cooper is also a member of the 1%+ club.
Regards,
Mick
Hate to break it to you, but the term “tea bagging” was around way before Anderson Cooper. Urban Dictionary has definitions going back to at least 2003. It’s been commonly used in video gaming circles for at least that long, if not longer. And while it may be a disgusting act, there’s nothing inherently homosexual about it.
I think you’re reading too much into it.
They mean it in the queer fashion, however.
QM – It’s difficult to say what’s going through their heads, but for a large part of the population there aren’t any queer undertones to the term.
Anyway, you give them more credit than I do. I doubt they thought it through that much – they just thought it sounded derogatory and dismissive, so they used it.
I always thought it was a funny thing to use as a pejorative. Being a Teabagger isn’t (I would imagine) that bad. Being a Teabaggee, on the other hand…
The interview of 5/15/09 is part of the trailer – interesting to see Gergen snicker. Obviously in on the joke as well.
“How” is quite the other question.
Pretty open question…in some cases.
Tea Party Member – proud to be included. Go Bb
Hello and welcome! Our usual custom here is to exchange points of views without resorting to personal invective. There are plenty of other places for that.
FBAL:
In addition to what Lex said above, if you were to check some history of these posts and comments, you will find that flit is a paid-up member of this community. His views greatly differ from those of many, if not most, of the rest of us, but he has fully earned the right to express them. Just as others of us have earned the right to laugh, hoot, and throw popcorn and peanut shells at him when he does.

I think Flit and Lex have history as well. But Flit served. At least one Yankee Station cruise to Vitenam as an F-4 driver dropping “warheads on foreheads.” So he isn’t a complete Lib Weenie.
Besides, it’s fun to have a resident Lib to snark at on occassion.
PLQ & QM – You guys are too kind. Actually a couple of cruises on Yankee Station. Not to mention I once worked for and voted for Nixon. I also supported Bush the senior and voted for Reagan.
Truth be known some of the ‘better’ incoming snark brings me to smile. The other stuff… well, I have a thick skin. Also it may not come as a surprise to some that I don’t always believe 100% in everything I post. But I do like debate and looking beyond the surface of things by challenging common conceptions and/or misconceptions. And I most always do learn something new here, thanks to our gracious host in allowing me to participate.
