Hmm…not a whole lot of deep thinkin’ goin’ on; but, who said this?…

I want to take those profits, and I want to put those in a strategic energy fund that will fund a plan for alternative smart energies”

Yep, you guessed it. Our favorite Senator from New York. The remark was made in defense of a new tax proposal involving oil companies. By the way, in case you missed it,  the operative word is “take”. I’m sure she was about as popular as a spider in a room full of school girls after that remark.

Right, it’s not like the companies need their profits, or anything.

Isn’t a gaffe defined as a politician inadvertantly blurting out the truth?

Actually, she made that comment at the recent DNC weekend retreat, so I’m sure she had a number of enthusiastic supporters in the audience…

She did have enthusiastic support. I happened to see the blurb and there was applause and hollering after she dropped that little jewel.

So, Miss Birdlegs… when are we going to see your Bio up? ;)

Cool…I guess this means that Hillary won’t be getting any campaign money from the energy corps. Sweet, nothing like cutting a whole in your pocketbook…

I just wonder why the “Left” can’t learn from history that socialism hasn’t/can’t/won’t ever work, it just goes against human nature.

Don’t even get me started on Universal Health Care.

Two Quotes of Interest here:

“We cannot expect the Americans to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans small doses of Socialism, until they suddenly awake to find they have Communism.”
- Nikita Kruschev, Premiere of the former Soviet Union, 3-1/2 months before his first visit to the United States.

And…

“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of “liberalism,” they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”
- Norman Thomas, for many years the U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate

Hmm… “All enemies, foreign and domestic…”

Yep Lex! that would be a gaffe.

Here’s a beaut:

“We must stop thinking of the individual and start thinking about what is best for society.” – Hillary Clinton, 1993

Not necessarily mutually exclusive concepts though – those two.

No, not mutually exclusive. Although our society was founded upon the idea that if you safeguarded individual rights, society would be OK in the aggregate.

Thousand points of light, and all that.

Ahh yes. The failed attempt of the ‘93 Hillarycare is warm in the incubator today. I can just see it in our future….waiting 6-8 hours in the emergency room for my daughter’s broken finger, which happens to be excrutiatingly painful. However, priorities are for the stabbings and gun shot wounds first. Ahh well.

Socialism may not be far off, if Hillary has anything to say about it.

Just curious – how long would you wait now?

Punky, just read this again. I am sure a broken finger can be extremely painful. But a gunshot or stabbing wound could well be fatal. What I am missing here?

Punky,

There is a term in emergency care known as triage. Look it up.
