It's awfully easy to let all of our focus and attention rest in the sandbox. But it is the watchful readiness of all those fine young men and women in places like Osan, Keflavik, Diego Garcia, Sigonella, Lajes, and all the other little outposts that preserve and maintain our way of life as well.
We often forget them simply because they are so good at their job that they prevent troubling headlines before they start. I've been to each of those places, more than once. When I think of them, I'm glad I retired, so Thank You. Thank You men and women of the watch at our many scattered outposts of Freedom.
