15-18 nights a month on the road. Different city every night. Sometimes, I take my camera with me, so I’m starting my own little contest. Some are easy, some are obscure.

Anamosa, Iowa? At first I was going to say Sturgis, SD but then I saw the pickups and realized also they were fairly clean. Too clean for a cattle town like Sturgis. The other reason I discount Sturgis is there seem to be open businesses on Main Street there, and that only happens during the rally in Sturgis. The rest of the time there’s only the gas station and the sale barn.

Sturgis, SD or Animosa, IA..either way you’ve got some podunk towns and neither is near a hub. You must fly for that ‘line outta MN!

You all win. It’s Sturgis. We were in Rapid City and did the tourista thing. I figured if I put up a pic of me in front of Mt. Rushmore that would be too easy (and might scare a few people!)

Max, I was amazed by how much was going on in Sturgis on a lazy weekday afternoon.

Bob, I’ll dump you in Bozeman whenever you want, but you gotta take me to a good trout stream!

Nose, it is tourist season. Come back sometime between November and March, I dare say you’ll find the place a little less hecktic.

Beautiful, beautiful country though. I used to enjoy taking vacations out there (outside of the Rally weeks), whetting a line or hunting mulies, and of course if you know some ranchers there’s nothing like spending a week on horseback doing the cowboy thing. Well, nothing that makes a Harley-Davidson seem like a Barcalounger in comparison.

Still can’t understand those clean pickups, though. Must have rained recently or something…
