FbL – true, skill is what it’s all about. Chopping/hitting with a large knife in close quarters DOES seem to be the advantage, especially in this case.

Dangerous, yes. But the level of danger frankly depends on the skill of the person employing the “loaded gun.”

As the link to Grim (incl. attached comments) mentions, in close quarters a gun-wielder is usually at a disadvantage–even with an opponent as unskilled with a knife as the employee obviously is (he used chopping/hitting rather than stabbing motions).

Good for the employees for fighting back, though that seems like it’s a very risky thing to do when faced with a loaded gun.
