Bleg Answered – and thensome…
Earlier this month, I posted here about my company’s efforts to put together a kind of Veterans Advisory Board and my efforts to gather information about hiring and retaining veterans. And Lex was gracious enough to give it more attention on his own site.
You all responded with a unbelievable wealth of information. Between the comments on both posts and the private e-mails I’ve received – I’m overwhelmed at your generosity of time to share your experiences and thoughts.
I wanted to let you all know that the committee I mentioned has been formed – they have already met and will be meeting again later this week. I am assembling all the information I’ve gotten from you and will be putting together a report for my division head. The committee is being staffed by an incredibly senior level at Travelers – which means it is unlikely I will have an active role on the committee (in a Fortune 100 company, it wouldn’t be appropriate, sadly). That said, I still intend to make an indirect contribution thru this report.
So – my heartfelt thanks to everyone who commented here and at Lex’s site. I’d say I’m surprised at the outpouring of information – but I’m not. Â Just further evidence that people who are in the military, who are retired military or just support the military all, have the best of our bravest at heart.

Hey Chris – You go girl! I don’t think your gathering of info willl do much for you per say but, everyone envolved in the military appreciates your effort to bring to a large corporatation our point of view.
Thank you so much for your effort. I know good things will come of it.
