Day hike on The King’s Pathway

I’ll always love a great hike in the wilderness. Within a few hours of our doorstop we have Yosemite, Lassen Peak and all manner of natural attractions. Truly blessed are we.

There was a time when I’d be nuts enough to try to hike El Caminito del Rey, a concrete walkway along a vertical walled gorge in Malaga Spain. The walkway looks like an accessway for workers of a defunct hydro project. The walkway might be said to be in disrepair.

The geology is spectacular, and the decaying strata no doubt have contributed to some of the damage.

Behold, and tread lightly.

That my friend is a genuine gut twister. There is no way that anyone could get me up there to take that walk. I assume from your comments that there was someone other than yourself doing the video. Great post

Saw this a few weeks ago on a friends blog – didn’t have info. on where it was though. Appreciate this. Just about got sick watching it though.

Do you have to be nuts to walk that or does it just help?
Very, very cool though.

I echo “thebronze” – and I didn’t even watch the video! I’m not to happy about heights…let alone something like that.

Ever seen the opening sequence in the movie “Cliffhanger”. Love the movie and spend the first 15 minutes totally nauseous.

My roommate doesn’t like flying movies or spinning images on the TV screen because they make her motion sick. To say that I have a massive case of acrophobia would be a gross understatement. I never knew how she could get nauseous from anything as small as an image on a TV screen until my fear of heights and all its symptoms kicked in while watching this video on a small part of my computer monitor.

[...] So I was just wandering around The Flight Deck over at Lex’s place when I stumbled on a post with a video that brought out my acrophobia like nothing else has. [...]
