Perfect time to get ‘em. You had a month and a 1/2 off and reported after New Years I’ll bet!
What’s more important- you’re still flying unlike most of the rest of us!

Actually I had about five months “off.” VAW FRS was all clogged up so I went back to DC area. Did OHARP (Officer Home Area Recruiting) at NRD Washington in Hyattsville, MD. Seeing as I had left college at Maryland about 18 months prior, I still knew lots of folks. Didn’t hurt that I had to spend my days walking around campus in SDBs (with nothing on them but bright shiny wings!). The future Mrs. Nose was then in Law school in Balmer (hun) so I spent quite a few days up there too.
Started my “real job” in the spring.
