Definition of “Disturbing“: A 45-minute conversation with your nearly 13-year-old daughter which somehow begins with her comment that “Bush is evil“, leading to an attempt to explain the true defintion of “evil” and ending with a full-out discussion surrounding the options available to the US after 9/11 after she at one point counters with the question “And just how many people did he send to Iraq to kill?“.
Definition of “Ironic”: The above 45-minute conversation with your nearly 13-year-old daughter where you essentially find yourself defending Bush and his actions given that you have never particularly been a fan of the man or his policies.
Definition of ”Satisfying”: Ending the above 45-minute conversation by explaining to your nearly 13-year-old daughter that although it’s great for her to have her own opinions with which others may disagree, she needs to make sure she has all the facts before forming to an opinion. For although she does not yet seem ready to catapult capitulate on her first opinion, she at least seemed to understand that last point.

Definition of “nostalgia”: Remembering when your daughter was around 13 (instead of 50) and thought that you knew most everything.
