Where to start?  found Lex thru a lovely Cdn. friend who knows how to discuss politics, etc. without being close-minded or rude, and is teaching me!

Married to the MSG (now I get to call him Master!)  ARNG for 28 years, deployed twice (OEF, OIF) and Grandpa to the unit, which makes me G’ma.  SIGH.

Three wonderful children, two (far too lovely) teenage girls, and a son (14) with severe disabilities.  The MSG has been a rock, a marvel and more than I could’ve ever hoped for, but not perfect–well, he picked me, eh?  Or, I picked him and he finally quit running.  Long, funny stories there……

I’ve had many jobs, none more important than wife and mother.  Raising kids is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, and the best.  Currently back to work after an 11-year hiatus caring for our son, as a home-health aide (love them old folks, it’s great!)

I’m a redneck, a hillbilly, mostly conservative and definitely evangelical.  I love books, men in uniform, professional bull riders, and life.  I love being able to have a discussion (or just listen) on things which stretch my knowledge, intellect and convictions.  I am part of a very large family, 5 generations (only 1 left in the oldest, and now 9 in the youngest!) most living in the same small, rural county.  Mountain people who know how to make a life on rocky hillsides and survive on little–always with some extra for a needy neighbor.  So far, the world hasn’t infringed a lot on our little corner of paradise, although we (usually) no longer leave the car running with a purse in the front seat, in front of the convenience store for 10 minutes while chatting with a clerk.  And mostly, we remember to lock the door at night when we go to bed.

thanks for having me around, I am too timid to put much in, but that will change <G> when I get over being around the brilliant minds and sparkling vocabs here!

My sentiments exactly, but I think you are doing just fine!

My problem is that I type much slower than I think, and that interferes with the ” rhythm” of the prose I attempt to broadcast.

thanks, unkawill! I have enjoyed your posts. I think I am a little less intimidated here on the Flight Deck. When I started listening in on the parent site, I thought I’d never post, because I know squat-all about navy or marines, and even less about planes! But the “boys” have been great…..and the girls are holding their own!

Just in case anyone reads this you should know that Michelle and I met face to face on neutral territory after years of “discussions” in a tight-knit group. The other gals were afraid that only one would return from our walk on the beach, but we discovered that we are both far more reasonable than they counted on!

Yep, “almost left” meets red neck right ….. in California of all places! I think they honestly were more than a little concerned that we might just duke it out with out fists instead of just our keyboards.
And just think, we have Al to thank for it. Who would have thunk it? Maybe he really does deserve a Nobel Peace Price….
